MIAMI, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Hector Carrasco pitched six scoreless innings and Cristian Guzman had three RBI Monday as the Washington Nationals beat the Florida Marlins, 4-0.

Carrasco (5-3) gave up just two hits while striking out six and walking three. The 35-year-old veteran worked out of a major jam in the first inning before permitting just one walk and a single over his final five innings.

Guzman was 3-for-4 while Ryan Zimmerman also drove in a run for the Nationals, who ended a three-game losing streak.

Jason Vargas (5-5) was the loser despite allowing only one run on five hits over seven innings.

Florida has lost four straight and 10 of its last 12 games.
