It was the first time in franchise history the Colts' oft-maligned defense had limited the opposition to single-digit points in the opening three games. For the year, Indianapolis has yielded a total of 16 points.

Cleveland quarterback Trent Dilfer was 22-of-29 passing for 208 yards without an interception, but he did not throw a touchdown pass. Reuben Droughns had 76 rushing yards, but the Browns had only 263 total yards and Dilfer was sacked four times.

Dwight Freeney had three sacks and the Colts now have 13 for the season. Nate Wayne had six receptions for 97 yards and Marvin Harrison added six catches for 53 yards.
