Lions' cornerback may be out for season

DETROIT, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Detroit Lions cornerback Fernando Bryant is expected to miss the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder in Sunday's 38-6 loss to Chicago.

The Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday that Bryant will be evaluated shortly and at that time it will be determined if surgery is necessary.

Bryant, in his seventh season, missed six games last year with an ankle injury. In 84 career games, which also includes a five-year stint with Jacksonville, he has 354 solo tackles and five interceptions.
