MLB: Toronto 6, N.Y. Yankees 5

TORONTO, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Vernon Wells went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored Sunday as the Toronto Blue Jays posted a 6-5 victory over the New York Yankees.

Eric Hinske also drove in a pair of runs for Toronto and knocked Yankee starter Jaret Wright out of the game when his broken bat hit the pitcher.

The Blue Jays ended New York's six-game winning streak. The Yankees fell 1 1/2 games behind Cleveland in the AL wild-card race as the Indians beat Kansas City 11-0.
