MLB: Texas 7, Seattle 6

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Hank Blalock singled home Michael Young in the bottom of the ninth Saturday to give the Texas Rangers a 7-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Mark Teixeira had two hits with an RBI and Alfonso Soriano added three hits for Texas, which won its fourth straight game.

Kenny Rogers pitched seven innings, giving up eight hits and five runs while striking out four and walking none. Brain Shouse (3-2) pitched the final 1 1/3 innings of the game to earn the win.

Ichiro Suzuki had three hits and scored twice for Seattle, which has now dropped three of the first four games of this series against Texas. Richie Sexson added two hits, including a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in the loss.
