ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Rod Barajas hit a two-run homer Friday as the Texas Rangers posted a 5-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Michael Young went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Mark Teixeira added two hits and an RBI for the Rangers, who have won three straight games.

Barajas' hit gives Texas 146 home runs at home this season, breaking the AL record set by the Chicago White Sox last year. The Colorado Rockies hold the major league record of 149 set in 1996 at Coors Field.

Josh Rupe (1-0) earned the victory in his major league debut, allowing two runs and six hits over five innings. Francisco Cordero tossed a scoreless ninth to get his 33rd save of the season.
