Saints make Baton Rouge, San Antonio home

NEW YORK, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- The displaced New Orleans Saints will play their final seven home games of the 2005 season in San Antonio and Baton Rouge, the NFL announced Monday.

The league made its decision after meeting with officials from Louisiana and Louisiana State University. Four games will be played at Tiger Stadium on LSU's campus and three at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The Saints had to move when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans with devastating force followed by city-wide flooding. The Superdome, home of the Saints since 1975, suffered major damage to its interior and exterior while serving as a shelter during the storm and will not be in use this year.

The Saints, who relocated to San Antonio in the interim, won their season-opener Sunday with a 23-20 victory over Carolina at Charlotte.

The team's scheduled home opener against the New York Giants next Sunday was moved to Giants Stadium on the following Monday.
