MLB: Cleveland 12, Minnesota 4

CLEVELAND, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer in a four-run first inning Sunday to start the Cleveland Indians to a 12-4 romp over the Minnesota Twins.

The Indians had 17 hits, including four by Coco Crisp. Cliff Lee (16-4) worked six innings and earned his his seventh straight decision.

Grady Sizemore hit a two-run homer and Ronnie Belliard added a three-run shot during a six-run second inning for the Indians.

Cleveland won its seventh straight game and maintained a 1 1/2 game lead on the New York Yankees in the American League wild-card race. Cleveland, which has won 18 of its last 23, is now 5 1/2 games behind first-place Chicago in the AL Central.
