Ferrero, Moya advance in Beijing

BEIJING, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Seeded Spaniards Juan Carlos Ferrero and Carlos Moya highlighted Monday's first-round winners at the $500,000 China Open at Beijing.

The sixth-seeded Ferrero came from behind to beat Korean Hyung-Taik Lee 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, while the eighth-seeded Moya disposed of Thailand's Paradorn Srichaphan 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 on the hardcourts at Beijing Tennis Center.

In other Day-1 action, Dutchman Peter Wessels beat Aussie Wayne Arthurs 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, Tursunov defeated German Lars Burgsmuller 6-3, 6-4 and Koubek downed Swiss Ivo Heuberger 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
