NFL: Jacksonville 26, Seattle 14

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Byron Leftwich completed 17-of-31 passes for 252 yards and two TDs Sunday to lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 26-14 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Jimmy Smith caught seven passes for 130 yards with two touchdowns for the Jaguars. Jacksonville (1-0) improved to 8-3 all-time in season openers and its .727 winning percentage on opening day is the best in the NFL.

Matt Hasselbeck completed 21-of-37 passes for 246 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions for the Seahawks (0-1).
