SACRAMENTO, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Yolanda Griffith scored 19 points and Kara Lawson added 18 as Sacramento beat Houston, 74-65, in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals at Arco Arena.
The Monarchs, the top seed in the West, swept the best-of-three series and advanced to the WNBA Finals.
Sacramento had 17 fast break points to the Comets' four, and also outdueled them in the paint by a 40-36 margin.
The Comets' Sheryl Swoopes led all scorers with 24 points. She also added six rebounds and four assists.
Tina Thompson had 13 points and six rebouns. Janeth Arcain had 12.
Sacramento faces Conecticut in the WNBA Finals starting Wednesday at Uncasville, Conn.
