MLB: Tampa Bay 7, N.Y. York Yankees 4

NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Carl Crawford had three hits, two RBI, and three runs scored Thursday night as Tampa Bay beat the New York Yankees, 7-4.

Both Jonny Gomes and Jorge Cantu added two hits and knocked in two runs for Tampa Bay.

Winning pitcher Mark Hendrickson improved to 9-7. Over 6 2/3 innings, he surrendered five hits and four runs with two walks and three strikeouts.

Danys Baez earned his 35th save for the Devil Rays, who are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

They now have beaten the Yankees in 11 of 16 games this season.

Ruben Sierra homered and drove in two runs, Hideki Matsui had two hits and the rejuvenated Jason Giambi had one hit and one RBI for New York.

Losing pitcher Chien-Ming Wang slipped to 6-4.
