
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Sherri Turner and Tina Barrett both shot 3-under 69 Friday and share the lead after 36 holes at the State Farm Classic in Springfield, Ill.
They stand at 9-under-par 135.
Liselotte Neumann fired a 7-under 65 and is tied for third place with Maria Hjorth (67), Pat Hurst (69) and overnight leader Heather Bowie (71). Natalie Gulbis (71) and Hee-Won Han (69) are tied for seventh at 7-under-par 137.
Defending champion Cristie Kerr (70) is tied for ninth place with Ashli Bunch (66), Kim Williams (68), Shi Hyun Ahn (66), Heather Daly-Donofrio (67), Dorothy Delasin (67) and Catriona Matthew (69). That group is 6-under-par 138.
The 36-hole cut fell at one-under-par 143. Among the notable players who will miss the weekend are Lorena Ochoa (145) and Women's U.S. Open runner-up Brittany Lang (148).
Turner won the LPGA Championship in 1988.
