NEW YORK, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The Charlotte Sting registered their second huge victory of the week Thursday night, knocking off New York, 78-66.
The Sting, who rose to just 6-27, had upset another playoff-bound team, Detroit, on Tuesday night. They finally recorded their first road win of the season.

Sheri Sam scored a game-high 24 points and Tammy Sutton-Brown added 17.
Becky Hammon had 20 points and five assists for the Liberty, who dropped to 18-15. New York has lost two straight and is 6-4 in its last 10 games.
