Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- A Florida circuit court judge Friday ordered former major league pitcher Dwight Gooden Friday was ordered to remain in jail until October.
The former all-star and Cy Young Award-winner turned himself in to police in his hometown of Tampa, Fla., Thursday after being on the run for four days. He fled police, who were trying to charge him for driving under the influence.
During the incident, Gooden was observed by police weaving in and out of traffic. He fled after refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
He also faces a hearing on a domestic violence charge. Reports indicate Gooden's attorneys Friday refused to talk about his whereabouts this week.
