Dwight Gooden surrenders to authorities

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Former baseball pitching phenom Dwight Gooden turned himself in to police in his hometown of Tampa, Fla., late Thursday afternoon.

The St. Petersburg Times said Gooden, 40, had been sought since fleeing and eluding police and resisting arrest on a DUI charge Monday. The paper said Gooden turned himself in at the Hillsborough County Jail.
