PITTSBURGH, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward ended his holdout but did not dress for Monday's pre-season game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ward, a Pro Bowl selection the last four years, is expected to resume negotiations for a contract extension this week. He has one year left on an existing deal that would pay him nearly $1.67 million.

Ward combined with Plaxico Burress for 115 catches, 1,702 receiving yards and nine touchdowns last season. However, Burress is not with the Steelers this season after signing a free-agent deal with the New York Giants.

Ward, 29, has never missed a regular-season game in his playing career. He has 505 receptions for 6,055 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Ward has played the first seven years of his NFL career with the Steelers. He is the only Steelers receiver to have four straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons.
