WNBA: Seattle 72, Minnesota 66

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Sue Bird scored a game-high 20 points Saturday night as Seattle eased past the Minnesota Lynx, 72-66.

The Storm, who have won 8 of 10, improved to 16-12 overall.

Lauren Jackson added 17 points and 10 rebounds as Seattle short-circuited a late Minnesota rally.

The Lynx dropped to 13-16 overall with their second straight loss.

Janell Burse was the third Seattle player in double digits with 10 points. Bird added 6 assists. Seattle once had a 12-point lead in the contest.

Chandi Jones led Minnesota with 16 points.
