PHOENIX, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Penny Taylor scored 23 points Friday night as Phoenix beat Sacramento, 76-62.

Maria Stepanova added 14 points and seven assists for the Mercury, who snapped the Monarchs' nine-game winning streak.

Anna DeForge netted 14 points and Kamila Vodichkova added 12 for the Mercury, who have won three straight and 10 of their last 12 games overall.

Phoenix guard Diana Taurasi scored 11 points, but left late in the first half with a bruised right knee. Nicole Powell had 20 points for the Monarchs, who dropped to 20-8. The Western Conference front-runners have already sewn up a playoff berth.
