MONTREAL, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- French Open champion Rafael Nadal, 19, was a third-round winner Thursday at the $2.22 million Rogers Masters, beating Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean 6-4, 6-4.

Nadal has won his last 13 matches, including clay-court titles in Bastad and Stuttgart. He's already won eight tournaments this season.

Former French Open winner Gaston Gaudio pushed his current winning streak to eight with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-0), victory over Spaniard Tommy Robredo. Gaudio, last year's French Open champ, won in Kitzbuhel two weeks ago.

In other third-round play, Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu defeated Belgian Olivier Rochus 6-1, 6-2, and Montreal native Greg Rusedski, who plays for Great Britain, held off Croat Mario Ancic 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
