MLB: Atlanta 5, San Francisco 4 (12 inn)

ATLANTA, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Marcus Giles drove in Wilson Betemit with a 12th inning single Wednesday to give the Atlanta Braves a 5-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

Andruw Jones had two home runs for Atlanta, which has won 11 of its last 15 games. Jones recorded his seventh multi-homer game of the season and 28th of his career. He has hit safely in 38 of his last 50 games and has 21 home runs and 51 RBI in that time.

J.T. Snow and Mike Matheny each had two hits and an RBI for the Giants, who have lost seven of their last 10 games.

Blaine Boyer (1-1) earned his first major league win with two scoreless innings, while Brian Cooper (0-1) took the loss.

Atlanta starter John Smoltz gave up four runs and eight hits without a walk in 8 1/3 innings.
