"Dean is a player who immediately adds speed and quickness to our roster, and that was a top priority for us," said St. Louis General Manager Larry Pleau. "We also believe that he can contribute goal scoring ability and instill veteran experience to our lineup through the strong success he has enjoyed over his NHL career."

During last year's lockout, McAmmond played for the Albany River Rats of the AHL and led the club in scoring with 61 points in 79 games.

Salvador, 29, a four-year veteran, had three goals and five assists in 69 games in the 2003-04 season.
