WNBA: Detroit 72, New York 67

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Deanna Nolan scored 20 points Sunday to help Detroit beat the New York Liberty, 72-67.

Kara Braxton added 12 points and Swin Cash and Katie Smith scored 11 each for the Shock, who improved to 11-10.

Detroit is 4-6 in its last 10 games.

New York dropped to 13-13 and has evenly split its last 10 games.

Becky Hammon had 18 points for the Liberty. Ann Wauters added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
