WNBA: Seattle 79, Charlotte 69 (fri)

SEATTLE, July 30 (UPI) -- Janell Burse poured in 27 points and had six rebounds Friday night to lead the Seattle to a 79-68 win over Charlotte.

Burse, who had a career-high point total, was 11-of-13 from the field. Lauren Jackson added 21 and Sue Bird had 17 points and seven assists as the Storm extended their winning streak to five games.

Charlotte, which suffered its eighth straight setback, now is 0-11 on the road and a league-worst 3-20 overall. Jia Perkins led the Sting with 21 points. Sheri Sam and Tangela Smith each added 12 points.
