GREEN BAY, Wis., July 28 (UPI) -- Green Bay Packers wide receiver Javon Walker reported to a team meeting Wednesday night, signaling the end of his holdout threat.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said Walker arrived at the airport two hours before the meeting. Walker is unhappy with the state of his contract, and had threatened to hold out until it was renegotiated.
As recently as a week ago, Walker's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, indicated his client would not be present at the start of training camp. The 26-year old wide out, who was selected to his first Pro Bowl last year, has two years remaining on his contract.
Under his current deal, Walker will be paid $515,000 base salary this year. If he had held out for the entire training camp period, the Packers would have been able to fine him $180,000.
Walker caught 89 passes for 1,328 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2004.
