MLB: Atlanta 3, Washington 2 (10 innings)

ATLANTA, July 26 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 10th Tuesday to give the Atlanta Braves a 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Atlanta moved into first place in the NL East for the first time since June 4th.

Mike Stanton started the 10th for the Nationals and allowed a leadoff single to Brian McCann, who was replaced by pinch-runner Jeff Francoeur. Julio Franco sacrificed Francoeur to second. Rafael Furcal was intentionally walked before Kelly Johnson popped out.

Luis Ayala replaced Stanton (1-3) and hit Marcus Giles with a pitch to load the bases for Jones. The Atlanta slugger looked at four straight pitches from Ayala to force in Francoeur with the winning run.

Chris Reitsma (3-2) earned the win with a scoreless top half of the 10th. John Smoltz started the game for the Braves and went eight innings, yielding two runs on eight hits.
