CLEVELAND, July 22 (UPI) -- A two-run homer by Ichiro Suzuki in the eighth inning Friday night gave the Seattle Mariners a 4-3 win over Cleveland.
In relief, winning pitcher J.J. Putz improved to 3-3 after throwing two scoreless innings. Eddie Guardado picked up his 22nd save as the Mariners snapped a three-game losing streak.

Ron Belliard hit a two-run homer and scored twice for the Indians, who have dropped 12 of 15.
Losing pitcher Scott Elarton (6-5) gave up four runs and four hits in 7 2/3 innings with four walks and one strikeout.
