INDIANAPOLIS, July 19 (UPI) -- The Indianapolis Colts have signed Michigan State standout kicker Dave Rayner to a three-year pact that starts him at $230,000 a year.

The contract also gives the sixth-round NFL pick an undisclosed signing bonus, the Indianapolis Star reported.

Rayner displayed a strong leg during his four years at Michigan State but was erratic as a place kicker in scoring on 62 of 90 field-goal attempts.

The Colts selected 10 players in the most recent NFL draft and only those under contract can report for training camp July 27 at Terre Haute, Ind.
