TAMPA, Fla., July 19 (UPI) -- The Outback Bowl said Tuesday it has extended an agreement with the Big Ten Conference through Jan. 1, 2010.

The new deal extends the relationship for four years.

"The Big Ten Conference is pleased to continue our relationship with the Outback Bowl through the 2009 season," said Big Ten commissioner James E. Delany. "Since entering this partnership in 1993, the Outback Bowl has historically provided great games and an exciting atmosphere."

This year's game on Jan. 2 will mark the 20th anniversary of the bowl.
