Norwegian ship in 'Tall Ships' race lead

, Norway, July 13 (UPI) -- A 68-year-old Norwegian vessel is leading the first lap of the "Tall Ships" races.

Aftenposten reports that the Christian Radich, one of three Norwegian ships in the race, is both No. 1 in its class for the race and has the overall lead out of 100 ships.

Earlier this year the Christian Radich was given more than $3 million in renovations.

The annual race will end Aug. 1 in Fredrikstad, Norway, where thousands of people are expected to be on hand for the finish.
