WASHINGTON, July 7 (UPI) -- Cheryl Ford had 15 points and 18 rebounds Thursday night to lead Detroit to a 76-62 WNBA win over Washington.

Elaine Powell contributed 12 points and 11 boards for the Shock, who won for only the second time in their last eight games.

Chastity Melvin had 14 points and seven boards for the Mystics, who lost for just the second time in their past seven contests.
