ATLANTA, July 4 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche hit two home runs and Kyle Davies worked 6 2/3 shutout innings Monday as the Atlanta Braves posted a 4-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
Davies (4-2) allowed four hits and four walks. The Braves have won and eight of their last 12 games.

Kerry Wood (1-2) suffered just his second loss to the Braves in his career. He allowed three runs on six hits and three walks over five innings.
The Cubs lost their fifth straight game.
Aramis Ramirez and Todd Hollandsworth each had two hits for the Cubs.
