MLB: Minnesota 3, Tampa Bay 2

MINNEAPOLIS, July 3 (UPI) -- An RBI single by Mike Redmond in the seventh inning Sunday lifted the Minnesota Twins over Tampa Bay, 3-2.

Minnesota swept the three-game set and has won six of seven.

Winning pitcher Joe Mays ran his mark to 5-3. He yielded two runs and seven hits over seven innings with two walks and three strikeouts.

Relievers Juan Rincon and Joe Nathan pitched one perfect inning each, with Nathan earning his 23rd save.

Matt LeCroy homered for Minnesota, which had just four hits.

Loser Scott Kazmir dropped to 3-6. He surrendered four hits and three runs over seven innings with two walks and six strikeouts after retiring 13 of the first 14 batters he faced.
