Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MINNEAPOLIS, July 2 (UPI) -- The Minnesota Twins rallied for four runs in the eighth inning Friday night to beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 7-4.
In the rally, Torii Hunter walked with the bases loaded and Jacque Jones tripled in three runs.
In relief, Jesse Crain (8-0) picked up the win for the Twins, who have won four of their last six. Crain allowed two earned runs in two innings of work while Joe Nathan earned his 21st save with a scoreless ninth inning.
Loser Reliever Dewon Brazelton fell to 1-8.
Jorge Cantu had three hits, including a home run, and Aubrey Huff also homered for Tampa Bay, which has dropped five of seven.
The Devil Rays' pitching staff now has allowed a major league-high 497 runs.
