MINNEAPOLIS, July 1 (UPI) -- Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager Jim Stack Friday was given a contract extension.
No terms were released.
Stack just completed his first season in the post. He oversees the day-to-day operations in the team's basketball department, which includes scouting, contract negotiations, player analysis, salary cap analysis and free agent scouting.
He served as an advance scout with the New York Knicks during the 2003-04 season. Before that, he spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Indiana Pacers.
"We're extremely pleased to have Jim remain with the Timberwolves family," said Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale. "Along with hiring a new head coach, re-signing Jim was one of our top priorities this off-season."
