MILWAUKEE, July 1 (UPI) -- Andrew Bogut, the No. 1 overall pick in this week's NBA draft, agreed to a multi-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks Friday.
No figures were disclosed.
The seven-foot center out of Utah won both the James Naismith and John Wooden awards as Player of the Year in college basketball last season.
"We're very excited to sign Andrew as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks," said General Manager Larry Harris. "This is the first step in what we see as a long and promising career for him with the Bucks. Andrew will show them (the fans) his appreciation through his tremendous work ethic and terrific play."
Bogut also was Player of the Year in the Mountain West Conference, when he led the nation in double-doubles (26). He was 15th nationally in scoring, second in rebounding and fourth in field goal percentage.
