Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, June 24 (UPI) -- Major League Baseball has suspended Seattle Mariners first baseman Richie Sexson for two games for acting up during a June 18 game versus the New York Mets.
Sexson was also hit with an undisclosed fine Friday. He was ejected in the first inning on June 18 by home plate umpire Dale Scott for arguing balls and strikes.
After being called out on strikes, he argued with Scott over the strike zone. Mariners Manager Mike Hargrove was also ejected for arguing with Scott about the same pitch.
Sexson was scheduled to begin serving his suspension during Seattle's game Friday night in San Diego, but he appealed the suspension and was in the lineup Friday night.
