Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
SEATTLE, June 23 (UPI) -- Richie Sexson hit a home run and delivered a 12th-inning RBI single to help the Seattle Mariners to a 5-4 victory over the Oakland Athletics.
Sexson hit a solo homer off Oakland starter Barry Zito earlier in the game for the Mariners, and ended with three hits.
Eddie Guardado, 1-1, picked up the win, while Ryan Glynn, 0-4, took the loss.
Eric Chavez collected four hits for the Athletics.
Seattle was down 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth, but Mike Morse smacked a two-run single to force extra innings.
