SEATTLE, June 22 (UPI) -- Seattle SuperSonics General Manager Rick Sund agreed to a multi-year contract extension on Wednesday.
No terms were disclosed. The announcement was made by team president and CEO Wally Walker.
The 54-year-old Sund has been Seattle's GM for the past four years, during which the Sonics have compiled a mark of 174-154. He has more than 30 years of NBA front-office experience.
"I believe that with our mixture of veteran players and young talent, there is a very bright future for the Sonics," he said on the Sonics' Web site. "There are plenty of challenges ahead, but I greatly look forward to working with Wally and (head coach) Nate (McMillan) to make this team better."
The Sonics are coming off a season in which they won the Northwest Division and eliminated Sacramento to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
