Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MEMPHIS, June 19 (UPI) -- Antonio Tarver won a unanimous decision over Glen Johnson in a light-heavyweight title fight in Memphis Saturday night.
The three judges at ringside scored it 116-112, 116-112, and 115-113.
With the victory, Tarver, 36, avenged an earlier loss to Johnson, also 36. Johnson had won a split decision when the two fought last December.
Tarver raised his record to 23-3, with 18 knockouts. Johnson dropped to 42-10-2 with 28 knockouts.
Tarver, who is the only fighter ever to knock out former champion Roy Jones Jr., now has avenged each of his three career defeats. He dominated the bout when most of the action took place in the middle of the ring.
