CINCINNATI, June 16 (UPI) -- Marcus Giles and Rafael Furcal homered Thursday night to help the Atlanta Braves over the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2.

Winning pitcher John Smoltz allowed four hits and two runs in eight innings. He did not walk a batter and had nine strikeouts in raising his record to 6-5.

Chris Reitsma recorded his fifth save.

Reds loser Brandon Claussen slipped to 4-3. He was tagged for three runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and nine strikeouts.

Joe Randa and Adam Dunn homered for the Reds.
