MLB: LA Angels 8, Atlanta 4

ATLANTA, June 8 (UPI) -- A two-run triple in the seventh by Dallas McPherson put Los Angeles in front Wednesday night and the Angels went on to defeat Atlanta, 8-4.

McPherson went three-for five and needed only a home run for the cycle.

Reliever Brendan Donnelly (4-1) picked up the win. He came in when starter Kelvim Escobar left in the fifth with elbow soreness.

Atlanta has lost nine out of 13 games. John Foster (1-1) gave up the seventh-inning hit by McPherson and managed to retire only one batter.
