Dotson pleads guilty in teammate's death

WACO, Texas, June 8 (UPI) -- Former Baylor basketball player pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing teammate Patrick Dennehy.

Dotson's trial had been scheduled to start next week. His guilty plea leaves him facing a sentence of five years to life in prison. He will be sentenced June 15.

The tragedy jolted the Baylor athletic department and eventually led to the ouster of Coach Dave Bliss, who lied to those investigating the murder.

Dennehy was shot to death on July 21, 2003 and his body was found a month later near Waco.
