Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
PHILADELPHIA, June 1 (UPI) -- Pinch-hitter Chase Utley broke up a tie game in the eighth inning with a grand slam homer Wednesday night, giving Philadelphia a 10-6 win over San Francisco.
Philadelphia won for the fifth time in six games with Jimmy Rollins going four for six with two RBI. The Phillies had a season-best 19 hits, three each coming from Bobby Abreu and Mike Lieberthal.
It was San Francisco's sixth straight loss.
Reliever LaTroy Hawkins (1-5) gave up the four runs in the eighth and Utley's blast made a winner out of Ryan Madson (2-2), even though he gave up the tying run in the top of the eighth.
