MLB: Chicago Cubs 5, LA Dodgers 3

LOS ANGELES, May 30 (UPI) -- Michael Barrett hit a two-run homer Monday night to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jerry Hairston Jr. hit his first homer of the season and Aramis Ramirez also homered for Chicago, which has won four straight and seven of its last nine games.

Greg Maddux (3-3) was charged with two runs -- only one earned -- on five hits in six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Ryan Dempster surrendered a homer to Olmedo Saenz in the ninth before finishing out the game for his fifth save.

Saenz drove in all three runs for Los Angeles, which has lost four of its last seven games.
