Warner, 33, a seven-year NFL veteran, signed a $4 million contract as a free agent this off-season after spending the 2004 campaign with the New York Giants.

Last year's starter, Josh McCown, and second-year man, John Navarre, were given the news Wednesday morning, the Arizona Republic said Thursday.

"Right now, Kurt will be one, Josh will be two and John will be three, and in the National Football League you need more than one quarterback," Green said on the team's Web site. "We feel confident that Josh and John can play if called upon. We are very confident that this will work out."

In his career, Warner has passed for 16,501 yards and 108 touchdowns with 69 interceptions.
