MLB: Chicago Cubs 4, Houston 2

CHICAGO, May 24 (UPI) -- The Chicago Cubs erupted for four runs in the eighth inning Tuesday night to defeat the Houston Astros, 4-2.

Jeromy Burnitz's two-run single was the key hit in the Cubs rally.

Sergio Mitre, recalled from Triple-A Iowa earlier Tuesday, started for the Cubs and worked seven innings. Mitre gave up two runs on five hits as Chicago picked up its third straight victory.

Roger Clemens pitched five scoreless innings, giving up just two hits with six strikeouts. But Clemens left the game with tightness in his groin and Houston went on to suffer its seventh straight loss.
