MLB: NY Yankees 6, Seattle 3

SEATTLE, May 17 (UPI) -- Bernie Williams hit a two-out grand slam in the seventh inning for the New York Yankees' go-ahead runs in a 6-3 triumph the over Seattle Mariners.

The Yankees extended their season-high winning streak to nine games as Alex Rodriguez drove in two runs, while Robinson Cano went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Yankees.

Derek Jeter, John Flaherty and Gary Sheffield each collected two hits for New York, which cranked out 13 hits in the win.

New York starter Chien-Ming Wang (2-1) surrendered three runs in 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. Mariano Rivera worked a scoreless ninth to nail down his seventh save.

Raul Ibanez delivered a two-run double and Jeremy Reed added an RBI double for struggling Seattle, which has dropped 11 of its last 14.
