
IRVING, Texas, May 14 (UPI) -- PGA Tour rookie Sean O'Hair shot a 3-under 67 Saturday to surge into the lead after three rounds of the EDS Byron Nelson with a 12-under 198.
Current British Open champion Todd Hamilton had a 65 to stand one shot behind O'Hair at 11-under 199. Scott Verplank, Ted Purdy and Doug Barron are tieed at 200.
O'Hair, 22, has seven straight cuts but is still seeking his first top-10 finish.
"I really struggled at the beginning of the day," he said. "I was nervous, but I definitely wasn't feeling well."
Jaxon Brigman shot a 64 to tie Shigeki Maruyama and Bob Tway at 202. Nick Price, John Rollins, Jay Williamson and J.J. Henry were at 203.
Vijay Singh posted a 69 Saturday to move to 6-under 204 along with Luke Donald, Brett Wetterich, Jesper Parnevik, Stuart Appleby, Bo Van Pelt, Ben Crane, Omar Uresti and Heath Slocum.
