NEW YORK, May 10 (UPI) -- Chien-Ming Wang pitched 7 2/3 innings and Tino Martinez hit a two-run homer Tuesday as the New York Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners, 7-4.
Wang (1-0) allowed two runs on four hits to earn his first career win. The Yankees extended their winning streak to four games. Mariano Rivera worked a scoreless ninth for his fifth save of the season and 341st of his career.

Seattle starter Aaron Sele (2-4) lasted just 2 2/3 innings. He gave up seven runs on eight hits. The Mariners have lost nine of their last 10 games.
Bret Boone had a two-run double to reach 1,000 career RBI.
